I summitted Ama Dablam with Tim in 2003. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or an expedition of his. He works with rigour, vigour and extremely good humour. Trip felt in control at all times in terms of both climbing and general organisation.
5 stars.
Have a good time on the trip! - R.Bull

Don't just take my word for it that you are
going to have a great time!

I was told about a 'thread' that had started in a Climbing Forum and
have copied it below. I hope this instils you with confidence.

Hi,

Has anyone been on an expedition with Tim mosedale? I'm thinking of joining his ama dablam trip but would like to know what he's like as a leader and climber generally.

cheers

I've known Tim for a few years and climbed with him a fair bit in this country. Haven't been on any of his trips, but wouldn't hesitate - sound bloke.

In reply to rob gauntlett:

I employ Tim part time, and although I've never climbed with him on anything more serious than Galloway Greywacke, he seemed to keep his head pretty well together on that, so he should be fine on Ama Dablam. A sound chap.

I've been on a couple of expeditions with Tim Mosedale and he offers a great service. He is fun to be with and is safe.

On Ama Dablam he provides a top notch package and is very conscientious about everyone's well being. He really looks after his Nepalese staff too, which I found to be very reassuring.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him - especially at the price. You get everything (and more - he even buys meals in Kathmandu) that you would get from some of the big name companies.

Go for it and have a great time.

I spent three weeks in Greenland with Tim and he's a good, safe climber. Hope that helps!

Tim has worked for my expedition climbing and ski touring company Tangent Expeditions for several years leading expeditions in Arctic Greenland. He is an excellent leader, extremely safe and great fun to be with. I have no hesitations at all in recommending Tim.

In reply to rob gauntlett:

Tim Mosedale led a Tangent Expeditions trip to Liverpool Land in NE Greenland for 13 students from Loughborough Grammar School for nearly 1 month in 2002 - I was also a leader (teacher) on that trip. Tim is superb. He is technically very competent and has exactly the right sort of temperament to inspire and motivate group members into achieving sensible but challenging objectives. I'd have every confidence in him leading a trip to Ama Dablam.

I've been on Scottish winter climbs and Ama Dablam with Tim in recent years. All the trips were brilliant. You will have a safe expedition and a fun one to boot!

In reply to Kevin Gibbons:

I summitted Mera Peak with Tim in (crikey can't remember now - approximately October 2000). He is a brilliant guide, who is not only technically accomplished but has in spades great people skills especially the motivational stuff. He helped me through a particularly trying AMS situation at about 18,000ft - I got tunnel vision and temporarily lost my sense of balance - he made sure I was safe and stabilised things before cajoling me to the the peak (Diamox is a wonderful thing).

I also had the pleasure to have him lead me up a route in the Lakes on the morning of his wedding in June last year (from memory it was Creeping Jesus HVS), he is like a blinking rock ape. Safe as houses (brick out houses to be specific).

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him as guide and as a good bloke. He does, however, have a somewhat advanced obsession with Monty Python sketches....

Tim led a ski tour in Greenland I was on - he has a great sense of humour, is good at keeping morale levels high in the team, very aware of potential hazards and an excellent leader. I'm sure you'll have a grand time.
